Alicia Herrera
ALICIA HERRERA creates wearable art by dyeing and felting fibers, spinning yarn, weaving, and sewing. Many of her pieces incorporate, or are inspired by, repurposed world fabrics and processes.

Alicia has traveled the world exploring textile traditions while collecting fabric and fibers. In many cases, she meets the original makers and hears the stories associated with the making of the original pieces. Knowing the history of the fibers she uses plays a critical role in her creative process.

When not making art just for fun, Alicia is busy teaching the 4th grade, designing felting workshops for children, and making wearable art to raise funds to adopt a child. She also has been known to play the accordion.
